Jack William Miller Gains Ground in Championship After Strong Performances at Laguna Seca

Competing in the #40 car for Miller Vinatieri Motorsports, Jack William Miller took on the Grand Prix of Monterey doubleheader, part of the 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone calendar. With two races on the legendary 2.238-mile permanent road course of WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Miller seized the chance to score valuable championship points, delivering two determined drives that showcased his pace and skill.

Race 1 kicked off the doubleheader with a strong performance from Miller. Starting from 15th on the grid, he pushed his way through the field. After 35 laps, Miller crossed the finish line in seventh, a result that boosted him to eighth in the INDY NXT by Firestone championship standings.

Sunday’s Race 2 brought fresh challenges, with weather delaying the start until later in the afternoon following the NTT INDYCAR SERIES race. When the track went green, Miller stayed focused, navigating multiple full-course cautions and capitalizing on every moment of green-flag running. Starting 17th, he powered forward to finish seventh once again—an effort that earned him the Jostens Biggest Mover of the Race Award. Among his standout moments was an assertive overtake through the iconic Corkscrew, underlining his skill and composure under pressure.

With back-to-back seventh-place finishes, each matching his career-best result in INDY NXT by Firestone, Miller closed out the weekend holding eighth in the championship.

“I’m really happy to come away with two solid seventh-place finishes at Laguna Seca,” explained Miller. “The car felt great, and I was able to keep it clean. Heading into the final three races of the season in eighth place in the championship is motivating. I’m focused on earning more points in Portland and building on this momentum.”

After a brief weekend off, Miller Vinatieri Motorsports will turn its focus to the Grand Prix of Portland, set for August 8–10 at Portland International Raceway. With three races remaining in the 2025 season, Miller looks to keep pushing forward in the INDY NXT by Firestone championship.
