MILLER VINATIERI MOTORSPORTS SET FOR FIRST OVAL EVENT
After scoring their first career top-five result in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship, Miller Vinatieri Motorsports is aiming to improve on that result later this week. Set to take on the Lucas Oil Raceway for round five of the 2019 season, Jack William Miller and Eduardo Barrichello will compete at the 0.686-mile oval less than ten miles from the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
“We had a great test at Lucas Oil last Monday and have our goals set high for the Carb Night Classic,” explained Team Owner Jack Miller. “We really worked on driver comfort and car setup on the oval before searching for the speed. The key was to ensure our drivers were confident, and then try to decrease the lap time.”
Miller continued, “This is another home event for us, and we are looking forward to racing as well as entertaining a handful of guests and partners that we will have trackside.”
Taking place on the infamous IndyCar Series Carb Day, the USF2000 competitors will race in the Carb Night Classic alongside the Indy Pro 2000 Championship and the USAC Silver Crown cars as part of the action-packed Indianapolis 500 weekend. With practice and qualifying set for Thursday evening, drivers will take in a short twenty-minute warmup on Friday afternoon before the Freedom 75 takes the green early that evening.
