Jack William Miller delivered a career-best performance yesterday in the INDY NXT by Firestone Series at Barber Motorsports Park, storming through the field from his 20th starting position to finish eighth. Miller’s impressive drive earned him the Jostens Hard Charger Award, recognizing the driver who gains the most positions in the race.

Competing under the banners of Abel Motorsports with Miller Vinatieri Motorsports, Miller showcased determination as he navigated the challenging 2.3-mile, 17-turn circuit. The eighth-place result marks a significant milestone in Miller’s INDY NXT career and adds momentum to his 2025 campaign.

“This is an incredible day for me, and the team deserved this result,” explained Miller after the race. “Starting 20th and coming home eighth at a track as demanding as Barber is something I’m proud of. The car was strong, and the strategy played out perfectly. Huge thanks to everyone at Abel Motorsports, Miller Vinatieri Motorsports, and all our partners for their support. Winning the Jostens Hard Charger Award is just the icing on the cake.”

Forced to start at the rear of the grid due to a penalty from the first event of the season at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Miller was driving with some fire as he stormed through the field at a track that is notoriously hard to pass on.

Miller’s charge through the field underscored his growth as a competitor in the highly competitive INDY NXT by Firestone Series. With this momentum, he and his team now look ahead to the next round this coming weekend at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
