Miller Vinatieri Motorsports Heads to Laguna Seca for Double Header Weekend
After a weekend away from racing, INDY NXT by Firestone travels to California this weekend for a doubleheader weekend at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Taking on the famed 11-turn circuit that features the Corkscrew, this will be Jack Miller’s first trip to Laguna Seca as he continues in his INDY NXT rookie season.
“We’ve been making progress all season long, and Road America was a solid weekend for us,” Miller explained. “We showed good pace, especially during the race, and that we can make moves when it counts. Looking forward to this weekend, Laguna is a track that we were unable to test at so I will be looking to get up to speed in the two short practice sessions on Friday.”
WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca will mark the end of a busy month of June that saw three race weekends and two series tests, one of which is still to come.
“A doubleheader weekend gives us twice as many chances to get a great result, and I think we can do that at Laguna Seca,” Miller continued. “We are stronger every time we take to the track, so I’m excited to see what we can achieve this weekend.”
Miller and the rest of the INDY NXT by Firestone field will first hit the 2.238-mile, 11-turn road course Friday for two practice sessions. Qualifying and race one will take place on Saturday, and race two is set to take place on Sunday afternoon.
